Business Studies is not taught at key stage 3 but is one of the options offered at key stage 4 for GCSE.

Applied Business GSCE
Applied Business relates to the world of business and the community at large. Students pursuing a course in Business will be encouraged to develop their knowledge and understanding of business in a vocational context. It is a suitable qualification for those who want a broad background in business and those who want to progress to Higher Education. It will provide essential information for those entering the world of work.
The use of ICT is a strong feature of the course as today most businesses have come to rely on it.
The syllabus is based on coursework and a written examination.

- People in organisations (human resources)
- Operations management
Collectively, the two AS units will give learners an understanding of the important role played by small businesses in the economy and the opportunities that exist for entrepreneurs, as well as the importance of established businesses and not-for-profit organisations in providing goods and services.
Units 3 & 4 (A2)
Unit 3 specification will cover the following topics:-

Learners will have achieved qualifications equivalent to Level 2 at KS4. Skills in Numeracy/Mathematics, Literacy/English and Information Communication Technology will provide a good basis for progression to this Level 3 qualification.
This specification provides a suitable foundation for the study of business or a related area through a range of higher education courses, progression to the next level of vocational qualifications or employment. In addition, the specification provides a coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study for learners who do not progress to further study in this subject.
