Have your say on learner travel

Monday, March 4, 2019 General Information

From September 2016 the qualifying distance for free primary school transport changed from 1.5 miles to 2 miles and the qualifying distance for free secondary transport changed from 2 miles to 3 miles. What this means is that for most learners, the policy change will not mean a loss of provision at the current distances. However, learners who are either starting their reception year, or year 7 and do not have siblings in the same school, will be impacted by the policy change from September 2016, and likewise year on year.

BCBC are conducting an engagement exercise to gather the views and information from learners regarding their walked routes to school. Parents and learners are encouraged to share their thoughts on their routes to school at https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=154780379787. Any questions or concerns can be answered by emailing [email protected]
